We believe that the arts are vital to the overall healthy development of children and youth and that young people have important contributions to make to their communities. The arts are a vehicle through which they can share unique perspectives. We develop their capacity to engage, reflect and express ideas through a wide variety of media and provide channels through which their insight can reach the community of Hamilton and beyond.
Founded in 1996, Culture For Kids in the Arts is a registered charitable organization dedicated to providing access to high quality arts programming for Hamilton youth and children for charitable and educational institutions. The overall program has a mission to provide experiences to students in the Hamilton community that would not exist otherwise.
- Provide visual arts, media arts, drama, dance, and musical education to children and youth.
- Provide financial assistance and scholarships to enable participation and appreciation of the arts to those who would not otherwise have access.
- Advance knowledge and appreciation of artistic culture by artistic performance and exhibition.
As a registered charity that relies on the continued support of our community partners, sponsors, and government culture grants, we are committed to transparency in process and accountability in our results. As such, we have made the CKA Annual Report 2015 available to the public.
